Deep Tissue Massage Kinesiology Rejuvanessence Facial Tui Na
Amanda Rodgers has been practising bodywork since 1995
"I had my first massage when I was nineteen. I was training as an actor, I was nervous about an audition and booked a treatment. It was pleasurable, but it was only afterwards that I realized the true benefit: I performed with tremendous focus and clarity, my voice was richer, my body effectual - I felt like an expansive version of my former self."
"I enrolled on a course, wanting to teach relaxation skills to my theatre company, starting with Asian studies because I felt they gave quicker results. A single pressure point could stop tendencies like butterflies, anxiety and nervous tension that frequently struck me just before curtain. I liked the adaptability of the Asian styles so I studied Thai, Shiatsu, Tui Na, Chi Nei Tsang and Chi Gong. I moved from working on a futon to a treatment couch, at first due to lack of space, and soon discovered the wonders of oil! I followed on with deep tissue, myofascial massage and injury rehabilitation."
"A recurring injury that had been misdiagnosed later led me by chance to kinesiology. I was convinced the woman who treated me was a magician! My need to know how it was done overshadowed my love of mystery so I studied this strange and intriguing system, discovering that all the tools are the results of scientific experiments. Kinesiology uses biofeedback muscle-testing as the language by which you understand what's going on biochemically, metaphysically and psychologically: one hand asks questions in various ways while the other muscle-tests before and after each correction to see the results along the way."
"After several years of study I decided I needed one more string to my bow, something equally therapeutic and indulgent. I had a taster of a rejuvanessence facial and was hooked; the quietness of the fingers across the face sent me into a trance state like no other and the physical change after five sessions was remarkable."
"I work with a cross section of clients including children and particularly enjoy working with artists wanting to hone their craft. Using kinesiology in combination with massage can help deal with injuries and stage fright, removing blocks that impinge on personal development. I also enjoy instilling creative responses in the body, expanding the imagination and working with a client's aspirations You don't need anything wrong with you to reap the benefits. Prevention is better than cure!"
"I can combine treatments and use a variety of skills in each session. I can conduct a free ten-minute consultation over the phone or in person."
