Deirdre Parrinder
I have been practising as an acupuncturist for 20 years, and am one of the founder members of New Cross Natural Therapy Centre. I am a practitioner member of the British Acupuncture Council.
My training has covered various approaches to acupuncture and I use them as appropriate. This includes eight principle acupuncture (TCM) and five element acupuncture. I have a special qualification in acupuncture for children. Several years ago I visited China and worked in a hospital there. On occasion I may also suggest the use of Japanese 'Kanpo' herbalism. I am a member of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine.
As well as working in New Cross, I have worked for nineteen years in a General Practice in Sydenham and more recently in a General Practice in Nunhead. These posts are funded by the NHS. I also work from my home in East Sussex.
I treat an extremely wide range of conditions, varying from chronic problems such as migraine or arthritis or tiredness, to common childhood diseases, to anxiety and depression and stress. One of my areas of specialisation is treating people who have suffered from severe trauma. I have recently worked in Bosnia with war victims for the charity Healing Hands.
Deirdre is a director of the New Cross Natural Therapy Centre.
