Marianne Rist studied nutrition at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition, where she graduated as a Nutritional Therapist in 1999. Subsequently she worked for two years as an associate to nutritionist Erica White at Nutritionhelp, advising candida and chronic fatigue sufferers. In 2001-02 she worked with Parkinson's disease patients at the London Pain Relief and Nutritional Support Clinic, under the direction of nutritionist Lucille Leader and Dr Geoffrey Leader.

Her practice in South London has been established since 1999.

She is a member of the British Association for Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and she attends regular nutrition conferences to keep her knowledge up to date and learn from colleagues in this field.

In the past year she has given nutrition workshops for the charity Breast Cancer Care.

"Previous to my career as a nutritionist, I worked for many years as a music teacher. This experience influences my work and I feel that my work is very close to that of a teacher. My aim is to empower my clients to take their healing into their own hands, so that after a few sessions, they will not need my help anymore."
