Sara Angelini
- Would you like to improve the quality of your relationships?
- Do you have concerns you can't deal with on your own?
- Do you wonder about who you are and who you could be?
I offer short-term psychological counselling or open-ended psychotherapy for individuals and couples and can offer both daytime and evening appointments.
Therapy can help you to explore and to better understand your way of being in the world and gives you an opportunity to assess the quality of your relationships with other people. When you are struggling to understand your feelings, thoughts or actions it can be helpful to share these with someone who is impartial and not part of your personal social network.
My approach is collaborative where I aim to find a dialogue with you. Together we will try to find a narrative of your experience that rings true for you. The process will hopefully help you to identify what is important to you and what changes you may wish to make to your present situation, if at all.
My work experience includes both the private and the public sector and I have been working in a GP practice, in a hospital working with people suffering from a life threatening illness, in education (primary school, further education and university) and charities where I have been working with women and the homeless. I also have experience of counselling employees.
I have studied Psychology with the Open University and went on to do a Masters and Post-MA Diploma in Existential Counselling Psychology and an Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy all with Regent's College, School of Psychotherapy & Counselling Psychology
I am registered as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS), accredited as a psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I am a member of the Society for Existential Analysis. I practice in accordance to the Ethical and Professional Guidelines of the above organisations.
I charge £50 per session for individual clients and £70 for couples.
In the first consultation you have the opportunity to tell me what has brought you to therapy and for you to get a sense for how I work. We can then decide together whether we would like to work with each other. I can also assist with referring you to other professionals or agencies if appropriate. Sometimes I am able to offer sessions to a lower cost if limited financial means are preventing you from accessing private therapy. This is however subject to availability.
There are no concessions for the initial consultation.
