Therapy can help you to explore and to better understand your way of communicating. It also gives you an opportunity to assess the quality of your relationships with other people. When you are struggling to understand your feelings, thoughts or actions it can be helpful to share these with someone who is impartial and not part of your personal social network.

My job is to support you to reflect on and talk about your concerns, which may be of a personal, social, physical or spiritual nature. Together we will attempt to throw light on your experiences and will focus on how you understand yourself, so that you can identify what is important to you and what changes you may wish to make to your present situation.

My work experience includes both the private and the public sector and I have been working in a GP practice, in a hospital working with people suffering from a life threatening illness, in education (primary school, further education and university) and charities where I have been working with women and the homeless. I have also worked as a staff counsellor.

I have gained a BSc (Hons) in Psychology with the Open University and went on to do a Masters and a Post-MA Diploma in Existential Counselling Psychology with Regent's College, School of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology leading to registration as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist. I am also eligible to register as a Psychotherapist with the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy), www.psychotherapy.org.uk as I have completed an Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy.

I am a member of the BPS (British Psychological Society), www.bps.org.uk the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), www.bacp.co.uk and the Society for Existential Analysis, www.existentialanalysis.co.uk and adhere to their respective ethical guidelines.

My fee is £45 per 50-minute session, including the first consultation, which may last longer than 50 minutes. Sometimes I am able to offer sessions to a lower cost but this is subject to availability.
